According to the researchers, this material, called Vantablack S-VIS, can absorb 99.
Vantablack's nanostructures can absorb almost all incident light, allowing precision optical instruments to perform optimally.
The improved version will be used in more fields, such as in the aerospace field, it can cover larger and more complex shapes and structural surfaces.
Customers can ask the company to paint them with Vantablack S-VIS, or they can apply for a license to use this paint in their own production equipment.
The previous generation of Vantablack S-VIS material is called Vantablack, which is made of low-temperature carbon nanotubes and was successfully developed in 2014.
"The original Vantablack coating has been a milestone and has played a vital role in many companies developing high-performance equipment," said Ben Jensen, CTO of Surrey NanoSystems.
The improved version will be used in more fields, such as in the aerospace field, it can cover larger and more complex shapes and structural surfaces.
After spraying the product, this black paint can make a 3D object look like a 2D flat, black hole, so that you can't see the details of its surface at all.
"Vantablack S-VIS is very effective.
The company stated that the spray cannot be used where direct contact or rubbing occurs.
