News April 19, 2021//---The electrode array based on complementary metal oxide semiconductor silicon manufacturing technology, such as Neuropixels probes, has been able to record thousands of neurons in the living brain.
To this end, in a new study, researchers from the United Kingdom, the United States, Norway, Belgium and Portugal designed a miniaturized probe called Neuropixels 2.
software
To verify the long-term record of these probes, the authors implanted them in 21 rats and mice in 6 laboratories for a long period of time.
A version of this algorithm allows neurons to be recorded stably for several days.
In summary, this research demonstrates a set of electrophysiological tools, including miniaturized high-density probes, retrievable long-term implant fixation devices, and algorithms for automatic post-motion correction.
