    !---- study found that neck and/or shoulder pain (NSP) is common among health workers and is an unnegligible occupational health problem.Due to the lack of NSP data, the study investigated the prevalence of NSP and sick leave absences among staff at public hospitals in Shandong, China, and looked at the factors associated with chronic NSP.of the 37 hospitals randomly selected from all public hospitals in Shandong Province, 30,520 hospital staff filled out a self-management questionnaire, including the Dutch Musculoskeletal Questionnaire and the Improved Nordic Musculoskelet Questionnaire.29,547 staff members, the 12-month prevalence rate of NSP and the NSP-induced absence rate were 15.6 per cent and 11.4 per cent, respectively, and were most common among tertiary hospital staff (27.4 per cent and 18.9 per cent) and clinicians (19.1 and 15.2 per cent).the dating regression analysis showed that chronic NSPs were significantly related to hospital-level, job, contract/temporary (vs. regular work), workload (long weekly work), ergonomic factors (long-term heading, long-term twists) and computer-related factors (long daily computer usage, keyboards too close to the edge of the table)..
