1 (Sputnik) -- Russia's law on allowing chickens and rabbits in yards has been in force
since January 1, 2023.

Previously, for raising livestock in villas, the fine amounted to 0.
5-1%
of the cadastral value of the land.
If unsure, the fine could range from 10,000 to 20,000 rubles (about 935 yuan to 1,870 yuan), while there are few large-scale inspections
.

The law now allows citizens to use garden and vegetable garden land to raise poultry and rabbits for their own needs
, subject to land laws, veterinary regulations and health and epidemic prevention regulations.

According to Andrea Shaoning, head of the law firm Saunin Law Practice, the current practice of fines will not change much, because not all gardens will belong to land where the construction of chicken coops or rabbit cages is allowed
