RGU: Russia exports 1.32 million tons of wheat in early September, down 28% year-on-year

Barley exports decreased by 41% year-on-year to 133,500 tonnes; corn exports decreased 67% to 10,000 tonnes

Elena Tulina, director of RGU's analytics department, said the decline in exports was mainly due to a decrease
in exports to Turkey.

Russia's exports to Turkey fell by 440,000 tonnes or 72 percent in September", which could be explained by Turkey's use of the Black Sea Grain Export Agreement to replace Russian grains with Ukrainian grains
.

At the same time, Egypt increased its purchases of Russian grains; Exports to Pakistan, Tunisia and Algeria remain stable, and Algeria is replacing French wheat with Russian wheat

So far in 2022/23, Russia has not exported cereals
to Central Africa and South Africa.
No exports have been made to Mozambique this year, compared with 52,000 tonnes of wheat last year; nor to Nigeria and Congo this year, compared with 70,000 tonnes to Nigeria a year ago and 40,000 tonnes to Congo due to rising logistics costs and limited
supply of ships.

Turkey's drastic increase in the cost of ships passing through the Bosphorus has also affected exports

Russian cereals were shipped to 16 countries in early September, compared to 24 countries
in the same period last year.

The number of export companies decreased from 64 to 19
