After further analysis of the components of the two new species of fermentation products, the researchers found that 4 of the 5 sesquiterpenoids produced by the Agarwood bacteria were the reported volatile components of Agarwood, which indicates that the Agarwood bacteria are useful.
This study revealed the interaction between endophytic fungi metabolites and host plants, laying a foundation for the application of endophytic fungi to build aroma and the use of endophytic fungi to promote aroma quality.
