public hearing on the production of pig premixed feed containing clenbuterol by Guangzhou Cuizhu feed additive factory This is the first administrative punishment hearing organized by the Ministry of agriculture since the implementation of the administrative punishment law The hearing not only confirmed the illegal facts of Guangzhou Cuizhu feed additive factory according to law, effectively deterred the lawbreakers, publicized the regulations on the administration of feed and feed additives and other laws and regulations, but also demonstrated the good administrative demeanor of feed administrative law enforcement personnel On December 9, 2003, the Ministry of Agriculture issued announcement No 318, announcing the catalogue of feed additive varieties The catalogue includes 191 varieties of feed additives allowed to be produced, operated and used in China and 9 new varieties of feed additives during the protection period The original catalogue of permitted feed additive varieties (Announcement No 105 of the Ministry of Agriculture) shall be repealed at the same time From December 5 to 26, 2003, the Ministry of Agriculture organized a spot check of "lean meat" in pigs in five cities, including Beijing, during the new year's day and the Spring Festival A total of 909 batches of urine samples of pigs to be slaughtered were randomly selected, and 10 batches of urine samples containing "lean meat" were detected, the detection rate decreased by 1.1%, 4.3 percentage points lower than that of "lean meat essence" in the same period of 2002 The illegal use of clenbuterol in pig production was severely cracked down to ensure the safety of livestock and aquatic products during New Year's day and Spring Festival.
