On March 21, 2022, Professor Zhang Hongquan's team from Peking University School of Basic Medicine published a long research paper titled "The DNMT1-PAS1- PH20 axis drives breast cancer growth and metastasis" in the journal Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy.
Working model: The role and mechanism of DNMT1-PAS1-PH20 regulatory axis in breast tumor growth and metastasis.
The study found that DNA methyltransferase 1 (DNMT1) inhibits the transcription of PAS1 by binding and methylating the promoter of long non-coding RNA-PAS1, and PAS1 inhibits breast cancer growth and metastasis
Fu Yenan, a doctoral student at Peking University School of Basic Medicine, Zhang Qian, a master student, and Liu Xiao, an attending physician at Peking University Third Hospital, are the co-first authors of this article.
