Recently, some of the results of the research team of Professor Yan Wenjie from the Department of Food Science of Beijing Union University on the efficacy of silkworm chrysalis were published as a cover article in the journal Food Science and Human Wellness (2021 instant IF 02) included in the SCI databa.
In this paper, by studying the effects of silkworm pupa protein on the proliferation, apoptosis and energy metabolism of human colon cancer DLD-1 cells, it was found that silkworm pupa protein can cause oxidative damage in colon cancer DLD-1 cells, promote cell apoptosis, and reduce mitochondrial respiration and energy metaboli.
