Human papillomavirus ( HPV ) is the only known carcinogenic virus that specifically infects human epithelial cells.

The study revealed that HPV16E7 interferes with the molecular mechanism of the host mitosis process by interfering with the MPS1-MAP4 cascade signal pathway, thereby prolonging the infection window and possibly promoting the continuous infection
