Recently, PPG announced that its PPG PSX polysiloxane coating has been successfully tested by an independent third-party laboratory to meet C4H (or high C4) certification requirements under ISO 12944-6:2018 Corrosion Protection of Steel Structures with Paint Systems.
PPG announced that its PPG PSX polysiloxane coating has been successfully tested by an independent third-party laboratory to meet the requirements for C4H (or high C4) corrosion protection certification for steel structures
According to the standard, exposure environments classified as C4 are described as having highly corrosive coatings online at coatingol.
The PPGPSX700 and PPGPSX805 coatings are applied directly to metal as a single coat, and their corrosion resistance meets high C4 requirements with a projected durability range of 15 to 25 years
PPG's patented PSX coatings use Dow's polysiloxane resin technology to provide long-term corrosion, weathering and chemical resistance in exposed steel applications, including stadiums, arenas, water towers and hospital foyers, comparable to traditional systems than, with less coating
"C4H certification is a major achievement for PPG's PSX coatings portfolio," said Scott Doering, director of sales and technical services for U.
In addition to requiring fewer coats to achieve the same level of protection as alternative systems, PPGPSX coatings are ultra-high solids and isocyanate-free to meet the most stringent environmental emissions regulations
