    Exercise and physical activity (PA) have shown the prospect of reducing the
    risk of cognitive decline, structural brain atrophy and dementia in older adults.


    SB is defined as "any waking behavior of energy consumption ≤ 1.


    SB has been linked to metabolic disease and mortality, but its relationship to dementia is currently unclear

    The study investigated whether SB was associated with accidental dementia, regardless of whether or not participation in physical activity (PA).


    In models that adjusted for a wide range of covariates, including time spent in PA, time spent watching TV was associated with an increased risk of developing dementia (HR [95% CI] = 1.
