In the new work, the synthesis of multi-functional phosphorus-based flame retardant crosslinker is proposed.
is selected as the raw material for the production of the required products due to its availability (bio-based), versatile structure and the suitability of various chemical methods. Hydroxyl acid groups also have a tendency to react with replaceable halogen compounds, so hydroxygenation must be protected by acetylation
. The synthesis process follows acetylation, reaction with diazepam (PPDC) and deacetylization to obtain the final product (GA-P).
products are used as crosslinkers to produce polyurethane coatings with different loads and various thermal, mechanical and flame retardant properties, and have been studied.
Thermal conductivity and flame retardant properties
Using thermal heavy analysis (TGA), differential scanning thermal method (DSC), extreme oxygen index (LOI) and UL-94 tests studied the increase in GA-P concentration, and its thermal and flame retardant properties improved significantly. The coating with the highest GA-P concentration displays 27 LOI and self-extinguishing within 10 s after ignition. Due to increased brittleness and cross-linking density, mechanical properties deteriorate with the increase of GA-P concentration.
can be found in Volume 17 (2020) of the Journal of Coating Technology and Research.
