Pharmaceutical grade povidone K30PVPcas9003-39-8 Uses[9003-39-8] This product is a 1-vinyl-2- Pyrrolidone homopolymer with an average molecular weight of 3.
8×104
.
The molecular formula is (C6H9NO)n, where n represents the average number of 1-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone mers
.
Calculated as anhydrous, the nitrogen (N) content should be 11.
5% to 12.
8%
.
【Properties】This product is white to milky white powder; odorless or slightly odorless
.
This product is easily soluble in water, methanol or ethanol, very slightly soluble in acetone, and insoluble in
B.
[Identification] (1) Take 2ml of the aqueous solution (l→50) of this product, add 2ml of 1mol/L hydrochloric acid solution and a few drops of potassium dichromate test solution, which will form an orange-yellow precipitate
.
(2) Take 3ml of the aqueous solution (l→50) of this product, add about 15mg of cobalt nitrate and about 75mg of ammonium thiocyanate, after stirring, add dilute hydrochloric acid dropwise to make it acidic, that is, a light blue precipitate will be formed
.
(3) Take 3ml of the aqueous solution (l→50) of this product, add 1 to 2 drops of iodine test solution, then a brown-red precipitate will be formed, stir, and dissolve into a brown-red solution
.
(4) Take an appropriate amount of this product, dry it at 105°C for 6 hours, and measure it according to the law.
The infrared absorption spectrum of this product should be consistent with the spectrum of the reference substance (General Rule 0402).
Povidone is widely used in pharmaceuticals, mainly used in solid in the preparation
.
In tablets, the povidone solution acts as a binder in wet granulation
.
Povidone powder can also be directly added to other powders in dry state and mixed, and then granulated by adding water, alcohol or hydroalcoholic solution
.
In oral or parenteral administration, povidone acts as a solubilizer to accelerate the dissolution of poorly soluble drugs from solid dosage forms
.
Povidone solutions can also be used as coating materials
.
