The 2021/2022 Peruvian blueberry season started in early May (week 18) and is expected to last until April 2022
.
Peru blueberry producers and exporting data Association (Proarándanos) provided show that the total shipments this quarter will be significantly increased by 25% to 200,000 tons
.

Of these, 49% will be shipped to the United States, 32% will be shipped to Europe, 17% will be shipped to China , and 2% will be shipped to other destinations
.
From the perspective of the growth rate of shipments, the Chinese market has the largest growth rate, reaching 111%
.
Peru exported 16,000 tons of blueberries to China last season, and this season is expected to reach 30,000 tons
.
Peru’s shipments to the United States and Europe will also increase and are expected to reach 22% and 20% respectively

As of the end of 2020, Peru has registered 46 blueberry varieties for export, a significant increase from the 13 varieties in 2016

It is understood that this year Peruvian Blueberry will continue to devote itself to opening up new markets, especially the Asian market

Priority is given to entering South Korea, Indonesia, Japan and Vietnam

Association President Daniel Bustamante said that Peruvian blueberries are positioned as high-quality, reliable and sustainable products
