PPG Industrial Group recently announced that the PerformaLoc high-performance coatings launched by its coatings business unit have been successfully industrialized. The resin volatile organic compound (VOC) content of the coating is low, cross-linking performance is good, the curing speed is fast and the protective film formed is hard. Therefore, the coating is sprayed on metal parts and no longer needs to be baked or forced to dry.
This product provides excellent light preservation, color preservation and excellent chemical resistance, salt resistance, moisture resistance, wear resistance, and non-aging properties, extending recoating time and helping to improve process efficiency for equipment manufacturers and component suppliers, resulting in increased yields and lower energy and labor costs.
PerformaLoc coatings are superior to other high-performance polyurethane coatings when used in the same time as polypropanol epoxy resins or polyurethane triggers. PerformaLoc has a low viscosity and can also be used as a traditional polyurethane. Because PerformaLoc coatings dry very quickly and form a hard, long-lasting protective layer, they are ideal for some equipment with poor heat resistance.
