    On October 19, 2015, Chairman Yang Yuanxin of the Chinese Nutrition Society chaired the "Packaging Positive Nutrition Label (FOP) Enterprise Symposium and China Food Industry Salt Reduction Guide Enterprise Symposium" in Beijing to discuss and listen to opinions and suggestions on the evaluation criteria of packaging positive nutrition labels (FOP) and the formulation of the China Food Industry Salt Reduction Guidelines (Draft).. At the meeting, Zhao Jia of the FOP Working Group first introduced the research background of FOP system, the current situation of international development, the basic elements of system construction, as well as food classification research, nutrition evaluation indicators, the establishment and application of evaluation standards. Subsequently, the representatives of enterprises discussed their own problems and views on related issues, and made suggestions on food classification, evaluation standard-setting, consumer publicity and education, etc. The experts and scholars of the working group also gave answers and explanations to the concerns of enterprises.. The second part of the meeting mainly sought the views of business representatives on the formulation of the Guidelines for Salt Reduction in China's Food Industry (Draft). On behalf of the working group, Dr. Gao Chao first explained the main contents of the Guidelines for Salt Reduction in China's Food Industry (Draft) and put forward some salt reduction targets and suggestions suitable for China's food industry. Next, the participants exchanged views on the salt reduction target, the feasibility of implementing the plan, and so on. Full recognition was expressed of the necessity and positive significance of the guide and it was suggested that the achievement of the salt reduction target should be progressively and gradually in accordance with national circumstances.Chairman Yang Yuxin summarized the meeting, saying that the working group will seriously consider the views and suggestions put forward at the meeting, and maintain communication and exchange with enterprises to complement and improve the two studies..
