Amico said: "My research examines the networks and connections inside the brain, especially the connections between different areas, in order to better understand how things work
Only need two scans
A few years ago, when neuroscientists at Yale University were studying these connectors, they discovered that each of us has a unique brain fingerprint
He decided to take this discovery one step further
It only takes 1 minute and 40 seconds to get the brain fingerprint
His research team found that 7 seconds is not enough to detect useful data, but about 1 minute and 40 seconds is enough
The next step will be to compare the brain fingerprints of healthy patients and those with Alzheimer's disease
Along this line of thought, potential applications may include early detection of neurological diseases where brain fingerprints disappear
This is a successful case of the Médecins Sans Frontières Ambizione project
Enrico Amico's research was realized thanks to the SNSF Ambizione Scholarship
