Definition of Osteoarthritis:

Osteoarthritis diagnosis and treatment guidelines (2007 edition) definition: OA refers to joint diseases caused by articular cartilage fibrosis, chapped, ulcers, and loss caused by various factor.

OA classification: 

OA can be divided into primary and secondary categorie.

Clinical manifestations of OA:

Joint pain and tenderness: The initial stage is mild or moderate intermittent dull pain, which improves with rest and aggravates after activit.

Joint stiffness: Stiffness and tightness in the joints when you wake up in the morning, also known as morning stiffness, can be relieved with activit.

Joint swelling: The joints of the hand are enlarged and deformed obviously, and Heberdell's nodules and Bouchard's nodules may appea.

Bone friction sound (sense): Due to the destruction of articular cartilage and the uneven articular surface, bone friction sound (sense) occurs during joint activities, which is more common in the knee join.

Joint weakness, movement disorder: joint pain, decreased range of motion, muscle atrophy, soft tissue contracture can cause joint weakness, leg weakness or joint twisting when walking, unable to fully straighten or movement disorde.

Imaging examination:

X-ray examination: asymmetric joint space narrowing, subchondral bone sclerosis and/or cystic degeneration, joint edge hyperplasia and osteophyte formation or associated with different degrees of joint effusion, loose bodies can be seen in some joints or joint deformatio.

MRI examination: MRI examination is feasible for patients with symptomatic X-ray without significant change.
