Nouryon (formerly AkzoNobel Specialty Chemicals) has introduced a new generation of versatile additives, Ethylan EF-60, enabling formulating designers to ensure low-temperature storage stability of VOC-free water-based latex paint products.
consumer demand is driving the industry to develop low-odor, zero-VOC coatings," says Shirley Go, marketing manager at Nouryon. "The Ethylan EF-60 not only helps eliminate volatile organic compounds, but also maintains paint performance at low or low temperatures

Ethylan EF-60 can be used in a variety of formulations, including water-based latex, architectural coatings, adhesives, textile coatings and inks. It also extends the "opening hours" - the time the coating can be used - and improves pigment compatibness.
Ghosh, Managing Director of Nouryon Surface Chemistry, added: "Ethylan EF-60 is a testament to our unparalleled expertise and experience in the paint and coatings market. It is consistent with increasingly stringent environmental regulations and has received an absolutely positive response from specific customers. We look forward to pushing it to a wider market.
Nouryon this week launched Ethylan EF-60 at the European Coatings Show in Germany, as well as Elotex HD2040, a re-dispersable polymer powder that helps customers produce dry mixed mortars for the construction and construction markets to meet the latest quality and sustainability requirements.
Nouryon also recently introduced an innovative multi-functional component for the coatings market, the Bermocoll EBM 3000, which optimizes the performance of water-based multicolor coatings for building facades to mimic the appearance of stone or marble.
