Recently, the reporter learned from the achievement technology appraisal meeting of "Innovation and Industrialization Application of China's Native Wine Yeast Germplasm Resources" hosted by China National Light Industry Federation: "China's Native Wine Yeast" jointly completed by Northwest A&F University and related enterprises and institutions.
Since 2000, the team of Professor Liu Yanlin from Northwest Agriculture and Forestry University has collected and excavated the local wine yeast resources, and built a germplasm resource bank with more than 20,000 local wine yeast strains; A series of nearly 30 local wine yeast strains, of which 2 excellent local wine yeasts CECA and CEC01 with strong tolerance, strong fermentation ability and strong aroma expression have achieved large-scale industrial application and exported to traditional European wine producing countries.
It is understood that the fermentation performance of local wine yeast developed by the team of Professor Liu Yanlin of Northwest Agriculture and Forestry University is comparable to that of imported high-end yeast, and some features are even more prominent
