Japan-based Nissan Fresh Group said it would close a salmon processing plant in the Fukushima area in March next year and shift production to its Vietnam plant
    .

The Koinahama Plant, Maruichi Fresh, has been one of
Nisannaka's main seafood processing plants for many years.

Hi-Coolai said the closure was the result of dealing with "safety and productivity issues related to aging" and that the plant was built in
    1973.

The company outsources its salmon deep processing production to Trans Pacific Seafood
, a subsidiary of Nissan Fresh Vietnam.
    The transfer will take place
    in March 2023.

    Nippon Fresh is a subsidiary
    of Japanese giant Nipponaka.
In addition to Japan and Vietnam, Nichinei has subsidiaries and offices
in Seattle, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Shandong and Dalian, China.
