Xinhua News Agency, Canberra, January 15 (Reporter Yue Dongxing Bai Xu) The Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization of Australia issued a communiqué a few days ago, stating that an international study in which the institution participated has found that low-carbohydrate diets can help alleviate type 2 diabetes
According to the bulletin, researchers have found that after receiving a low-carbohydrate diet for 6 consecutive months, some patients consume less than 26% of their daily calories from carbohydrates, achieving higher relief of type 2 diabetes than patients on a traditional diet.
Joshua Goldenberg, who participated in the study, said that the study is the first systematic study to test the safety and effectiveness of low-carbohydrate diets in adults and evaluate the remission rate of type 2 diabetes
He introduced that the researchers tested the comprehensive effects of 23 related clinical trials published worldwide, involving more than 1,000 participants
Another research participant, Grant Brinkworth, introduced that on the basis of existing research, new research proved that low-carbohydrate diet can reduce weight, effectively reduce diabetes medication, improve blood sugar control, and effectively alleviate type 2 diabetes
