It is widely accepted that primary progressive aphasia is a clinical syndrome with at least three different variants that differ
in phenotype, atrophic regions, and the most common underlying neurodegenerative diseases.
In this observational cohort study of 227 patients with PPA, participants were subjected to sentence reading and repeat tests
using standard batteries.
The results provide an effective and reliable clinical assessment and a new imaging analysis to distinguish the clinical syndrome of the logarithmic open variant from other variants of PPA
.
This study provides a third type of evidence for sentence readings: the repetition rate distinguishes a PPA in logarithmic form from
other PPA variants.
