JANUARY 4, 2021 // -- In a recent study published in the international journal Nature, scientists from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and others found that pain nerves in the body's bone marrow may help regulate the mobilization of hematopoietic stem cells.
researchers point out that hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs, hematopoietic stem cells) originate in the bone marrow and can differentiate and grow into blood cells and immune cells that can enter the body's blood through the hematopoietic process.
Prior to the mobilization process, HSCs were able to reside in specific habitats in the bone marrow and were mobilized only when needed; in patients treated with leukemia or other blood cancers, researchers were able to collect HSCs from the bone marrow using special drugs and store them during chemotherapy.

As part of their work in this paper, researchers also used immunofluorescence imaging techniques to study nerve cells in mouse bone marrow, and found that most of the nerve cells were pain nerve cells, which may have forced researchers to wonder if these nerve cells played an important role in the mobilization of hematopoietic stem cells, and to clarify whether this was true, researchers used drugs and genetic engineering techniques to infuriate these nerve cells.

Then the researchers tried to give mice drugs to increase the production of neurotransmitters associated with pain nerves in their bodies, and found that doing so did increase the mobilization of hematopoietic stem cells;
later this year, researchers will continue to conduct more in-depth studies to shed light on the molecular mechanisms and mechanisms by which this painful nerve helps regulate the mobilization of hematopoietic stem cells in the body.
