    In order to further promote the zero-growth action of chemical fertilizer use, on March 20, the National Science and Technology Innovation Alliance for Fertilizer Reduction and Efficiency was established in Beijing, marking that my country's chemical fertilizer reduction and efficiency increase and zero-growth action are on the track of relying on technological progress and innovation.

    Li Yangjing, secretary-general of the National Science and Technology Innovation Alliance for Fertilizer Reduction and Efficiency, introduced that the alliance will focus on three aspects: First, promote the creation of new fertilizer products.
    Based on the needs of agricultural production, integrate the strength of scientific research institutions and enterprises to break through the major key technical bottlenecks for reducing fertilizer consumption and increasing efficiency.
    The second is to carry out research on the application of scientific fertilization technology.
    Promote the integration of mechanical fertilization and water and fertilizer application, and integrate and promote efficient fertilization technology models.
    The third is to explore innovations in promotion models.
    In accordance with the "intelligent fertilizer distribution" model, we will promote the introduction of formula fertilizer into villages and households to fields.
    Give full play to the demonstration and leading role of new business entities such as large grain farmers and promote the transformation of fertilization methods.
    The person in charge of the National Agricultural Technology Extension Service Center stated that in 2015, the Ministry of Agriculture formulated the "Action Plan for Zero Growth in Fertilizer Use by 2020", which clearly pointed out the problems in the application of chemical fertilizers in my country.
    In recent years, the Ministry of Agriculture has actively promoted the implementation of the new concept of green development.
    It has established 200 demonstration counties across the country.
    Agribusinesses have cooperated to promote fertilizer reduction and efficiency enhancement technologies, promote the application of new fertilizers and machinery, change fertilization methods, and improve fertilizer utilization efficiency.
    In 2016, the country's agricultural fertilizer consumption achieved close to zero growth for the first time since the reform and opening up.
    Some provinces have achieved negative growth, and the zero-growth action of fertilizer use has achieved remarkable results.
    It is reported that Sinofert is China's largest fertilizer supplier and distribution service provider, covering the entire industrial chain of resources, research and development, production, distribution, and agrochemical waste, covering 95% of the country's arable land.
