March 5, 2021 // --Recently, in a research report published in the international journal Nature Communications , scientists from the University of Queensland and other institutions conducted the world’s largest peptic ulcer disease (peptic ulcer disease) inheritance Factor studies have confirmed the association between depression and gastric ulcers in the body.

Through research and analysis of the health data of nearly 500,000 people, researchers Naomi Wray and Yeda Wu revealed the molecular mechanism of the body's intestine and brain working together.

This study links major depression with an increased risk of gastrointestinal diseases, and may explain the common incidence of these two diseases.
Researcher Wray said that in order to identify why certain people suffer from ulcers, we analyzed the health data of 456,327 people in the UK biobank and identified 8 genetic variants that increase the risk of peptic ulcer disease; among them, Six genetic variations are closely related to why certain people are more susceptible to Helicobacter pylori infection.
Current treatments for peptic ulcer disease can target one of these genetic mutations, so the identification of other related genes may provide opportunities for the development of new therapies; access to large-scale health and genomic data can also help researchers further understand many complexities The pathogenesis and characteristics of sexual diseases.
