[China Epoxy Resin Industry Online] May 24, 2005: In response to questions from some countries and international organizations on the environmental management of new chemical substances in China, the Law Department of the State Environmental Protection Administration recently held an international seminar on chemical safety management At the meeting, the key issues involved in China's "New Chemical Substances Environmental Management Measures" were interpreted, indicating that my country's chemical environmental management is improving.

According to Wen Yingmin, Department of Laws and Regulations of the State Environmental Protection Administration, in order to fulfill the commitments made by the Chinese government to join the WTO, since November 1, 2002, the 1994 revision of the "Environmental Management Registration for the First Import of Chemical Crystals and the Import and Export of Toxic Chemicals" has been completely cancelled.

In the Regulations, the relevant provisions of the environmental management registration permit for the first import of chemicals have established a new regulation "New Chemical Substance Notification and Review System" that is in line with international practices for the assessment and control of chemicals.
