Under the guidance of his mentor and researcher Xu Jin, Zhao Jingjing, a graduate student of the Horticultural Plant Breeding Research Group of Xishuangbana Tropical Botanical Garden of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, studied the physiological and molecular mechanisms of Mn poison control plant root development by means of plant physiology, pharmacology, genetics and molecular biology.
results show that Mn poisoning reduces the growth of the main root by reducing cell division in the sub-region.
Mn poison also inhibits the expression of genes associated with growth hormone synthesis, reduces the level of PIN4 and PIN7 proteins at the root tip, thereby reducing the content of root tip growth hormone, thereby inhibiting the growth of the main root.
