original title: Lycopene can significantly improve sperm qualitymen can improve sperm quality by taking a simple nutritional supplement, a compound found in cooked tomatoes.
a team of experts from the Department of Oncology and Metabolism and the Department of Human Nutrition at the University of Sheffield in the United Kingdom conducted a randomized double-blind controlled trial in which they selected 60 healthy volunteers between the ages of 19 and 30.half of the volunteers took a nutritional supplement containing lycopene daily for 12 weeks, while the other half took a placebo daily. Neither the researchers nor the volunteers knew who had received lycopene therapy and who had taken a placebo. The researchers collected semen and blood samples from volunteers at the beginning and end of the trial.trial results showed an increase in the proportion of healthy sperm in the healthy shape of volunteers taking nutritional supplements containing lycopene, and a 40 percent increase in the number of fast-moving sperm. The findings are expected to change the outlook for men with fertility problems and to develop better ways to reduce the devastating impact of modern life on male reproductive health..
