Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a psychosocial intervention aimed at improving mental health.
CBT focuses on challenging and changing helpless cognitive distortions (such as thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes) and behaviors, improving emotional regulation, and the development of individual coping strategies for solving current problems.
With the popularity of the Internet, Internet Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (iCBT) has gradually been recognized as a feasible form of CBT for the treatment of depression.
Recently, experts from the University of Tokyo in Japan conducted a systematic review of trials of iCBT in the treatment of depression, and the results were published in the journal Lancet Psychiatry.
A total of 76 RCTs were identified, including 48 trials that provided individual participant data (11704 participants) and 28 trials that provided overall data (6474 participants).
