!---- The potential impact of the COVID-19 pandemic is gaining global attention, with researchers recently analysing changes in mental health in the UK before and during the outbreak.participating in the 8th or 9th uk Family Longitudinal Study (UKHLS) family were invited to complete the COVID-19 web survey from 23 to 30 April 2020.use 12 General Health Questionnaires (GHQ-12) for mental health assessment.in order to check the time trend, repeated cross-sectional analysis was carried out.adopt a fixed-effect regression model to identify internal changes compared to previous trends.UKHLS study team included 42,330 participants, of whom 17,452 (41.2%) participated in the online survey.a month after the UK ban was imposed, the prevalence of people with clinically significant mental pain rose from 18.9 per cent in 2018-19 to 27.3 per cent in April 2020.GHQ-12 average also increased significantly during this period, from 11.5 in 2018-19 to 12.6 in April 2020., taking into account the upward trend between 2014 and 2018, the result was 0.48 higher than expected.in terms of individual GHQ-12 scores, the largest increases were among 18-24 year olds, 25-34 years old, women and young children living with young children.also had a significant increase in GHQ-12 scores for people employed before the outbreak.study found that the mental health of the British population deteriorated during the outbreak, with particular attention to the special needs of women, young people and pre-school children to prevent the onset of mental illness..
