News from our newspaper South Korea recently issued a document to revise the standards and specifications of food additives
The newly established seasonings are composed of synthetic seasonings and natural seasonings, and materials used for seasoning dilution and dissolving are added; the list of synthetic and natural seasonings is revised, and 86 compounds are added for synthetic seasoning substances, which are synonyms for 7 compounds Corrections were made, 2 new sources of natural flavor substances were added, 4 sources were deleted, and 3 common names were corrected; revised Allura Red, Alora Red Aluminum Lake, Amaranth, Amaranth Aluminum Lake, Standard for the use of 16 food additives such as bright blue; revised analytical methods for glycerol, L-leucine and freezing point detection methods; revised 4 food additives such as fatty acid glycerides, alternative colors, food starch modification, and spice oleoresin definition
