Kemira will invest approximately 50-60 million euros to develop its production increase strategy at the Joutseno plant in Finland
.
The company plans to build a brand-new sodium chlorate production line and adopt its own advanced technology to substantially increase the plant's current sodium chlorate output
.
After meeting the necessary regulatory requirements, construction will start in June 2016
.
When completed, it will indirectly create about 200 jobs
.
The new chlorate production is expected to be operational in the fourth quarter of 2017
.
Sodium chlorate is the main raw material for the production of chlorine dioxide (ClO2) on the pulp line, and chlorine dioxide is the main bleaching agent for kraft pulp
