In order to fully implement the relevant requirements of the 2020 Provincial Food Production Safety Supervision Work, and effectively perform the functions of salt quality and safety supervision, the Provincial Market Supervision Bureau recently issued the Measures for the Supervision and Administration of Salt Quality and Safety in Jiangsu Province (hereinafter referred to as the Measures).
The Measures contain 43 articles, covering all aspects of salt quality and safety supervision, and make specific provisions on the production and operation requirements, codes of conduct, quality and safety supervision measures and law enforcement measures of the province, and clarify the production and operation license, food additive use management, quality and safety management, production and operation process control, traceability system, record-keeping. The specific requirements of the recall system, the management of non-conforming products, emergency disposal and the management of the industry regulate the production and operation of the market, network transactions, marking, storage requirements, entrusted distribution, logistics and storage, and improve the safeguards such as salt safety liability insurance, liability interview, law enforcement coordination mechanism and legal liability.
The introduction of the Measures provides a system guarantee for regulating and strengthening the supervision of salt production and operation activities in the province, which is conducive to promoting salt producers and operators to fully implement the main responsibility of food safety, and will lay a solid foundation for ensuring the quality and safety of salt in the province.
