According to SeafoodNews on November 22, Japan's imports of kelp from China this year are far lower than originally planned, and there is no agreement with South Korea on the price of kelp, so Japan has abandoned most imports
this year.

At the end of October, the total amount of kelp from China was only 21 tons, and C&F prices increased by 142%
year-on-year due to price adjustments made by the Chinese side.

Some importers said that they originally planned to import 1,300 tons of Chinese-made kelp, but due to the sharp reduction in China's production, the price suddenly increased sharply, and the price with South Korea could not be negotiated, resulting in serious challenges
for enterprises this year.
