Recently, researchers compared the overall survival rate (OS) of patients with colorectal cancer with high tumor burden and LR after receiving liver transplantation or PVE.
Fifty patients with liver metastases from colon cancer participated in the study.
Among the 53 patients in the PVE group, the average age was 61.
The 5-year OS rate in the liver transplantation group was 33.
Studies have found that for patients with liver metastases from colon cancer with high tumor burden, the 5-year survival rate after liver transplantation is much higher than that after portal vein embolization .
For patients with liver metastases from colon cancer with high tumor burden, the 5-year survival rate of patients after liver transplantation is much higher than that of patients with liver resection after portal vein thrombosis.
