The researchers searched the relevant articles included in the database as of March 20, 2021

The researchers screened 1478 studies that may be relevant to the purpose of this review, but only 463 patients from 14 studies were included in the qualitative analysis, and 146 patients from 4 studies were included in the meta-analysis

Consistent with the above results, this systematic review yielded favorable results, that is, when patients with RA and periodontitis receive traditional synthetic disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs (csDMARDs), anti-B lymphocyte drugs, anti-IL-6R drugs, or JAK inhibitors PD, CAL, GI/MGI and bleeding on probing (BOP) will all be reduced during drug treatment

In summary, these results show that csDMARDs, anti-B lymphocyte preparations, anti-IL-6R preparations, anti-TNF-α preparations and JAK inhibitors have potentially positive effects on improving the periodontal condition of patients with RA and periodontitis
