Iran hopes to increase exports of shrimp products to China as soon as possible

From SeafoodNews on December 1, Hossein Hosseini, head of Iran's fisheries organization, said that once shrimp prices improve, Iran will increase the supply
of shrimp products to China.

In the year ending in March, Iranian shrimp exports to China exceeded 32,000 tons, accounting for more than
56% of Iran's total shrimp production in the same period.

This year, Iranian shrimp exports to Russia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Oman, Hossein Hosseini hopes that shrimp exports to China will increase significantly this year (Iranian calendar), and plans to increase annual shrimp exports to 160,000 tons
by 2025.

In recent years, Iran has encouraged increased exports of food and agricultural products to diversify its economy away from dependence on crude oil
revenues.
Experts say the policy has clearly paid off, with exports helping Iran offset the impact of

sanctions on its oil exports.
