.
naturally, good news is that Ineos has chosen our port for this significant new investment," said Jacques Vandermeiren, executive director of the Port Authority of Antwerp. This shows once again that we are very attractive to international investors as an integrated chemical cluster in Europe. In
addition, propylene and ethylene are the starting points for many other processes, so the production of these basic ingredients will further strengthen our position as raw materials in the chemical industry and even in many other industries in our country. The
investment has attracted more than 5 billion euros in new capital spending to Antwerp last year. The
plant will be built at Inglis' existing site in Lilo. Once commercial operations begin in 2024, these new facilities are expected to create 400 new business opportunities in the region.
construction, the project is expected to provide employment opportunities for approximately 3,000 people.
, executive and chairman of Inglis, said: "Our investment in the ethane fracturing and PDH plant is the largest of its kind in Europe in more than a generation. Therefore, this is a major development of the European petrochemical industry. We
that this investment can reverse the decline of the European chemical industry in recent years. "
