In recent days, Inglis announced that it has begun construction of a 100,000-ton/year production capacity of acrylonitrile-styrene-acrylic (ASA) plant in Bayport, Texas, USA. The plant, close to Inglis' styrene monolithic plant, is expected to be operational in 2021 with the aim of achieving a circular economy of styrene.
the project is understood to be part of Inglis' expansion plans in the Americas
. Production at the ALtamira plant in Mexico will also move to a new plant in Bayport. Inglis also plans to add 70,000 tons of acrylonitrile-butane-styrene (ABS) capacity at its Altamira plant in Mexico.
is pleased to see the world's most efficient ASA plant built on Bayport," said Alexander Glueck, president of InexPert Americas. ASA is a versatile, high-performance styrene resin whose properties make it the material of choice for many outdoor applications, performing well in automotive and construction external applications.
