On November 1, the annual wall painting project of the Potala Palace was officially launched, which is also the routine "Annual Beauty" of the Potala Palace.
Hundreds of volunteers with paint buckets on their backs lined up long queues at each painting point to assist in the construction.
According to Jue Dan, director of the Potala Palace Management Office, 60 construction workers and hundreds of volunteers will repaint the walls of this magnificent palace in the next 10 days or so.
During the construction period, the Potala Palace is normally open to tourists.
The Potala Palace Management Office issued an announcement as early as October 25, stating that in order to ensure the quality of painting and eliminate unnecessary waste, it will purchase relevant raw materials in a unified manner and decline donations from the people.
"This is a continuation of the practice since 2017.
" said Tashi Phuntsok, Chief of the Maintenance Section of the Potala Palace Management Office.
The walls of the Potala Palace have four different colors: red, yellow, white and black.
Red symbolizes authority, yellow symbolizes prosperity, and white symbolizes peace.
It was during the third round of "Winter Tour to Tibet" in Tibet that day, and the Potala Palace was open to tourists for free.
