According to the website of the Indonesian Food and Drug Administration, the Indonesian Food and Drug Administration ( BPOM ) held a " press conference on strengthening food safety supervision before Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr in 2022" on the afternoon of April 25, 2022.
At the meeting, the person in charge of BPOM informed the results of food safety supervision and penalties duringthe enhanced supervision period .
The number of non-compliant products detected in the strengthened supervision activities before Hari Raya this year decreased by 8.
63% compared with 2021.
This strengthening of supervision activities is led by the Indonesian Food and Drug Administration.
A total of 73 working groups at the local sub-bureaus at all levels jointly carry out supervision inspections .
The person in charge of BPOM has made it clear that this strengthening of supervision activities will focus on checking the compliance of prepackaged and processed foods, that is, inspecting processing Whether the food has a circulation code (is it illegal), whether the product is expired or spoiled, including inspection of various distribution sites and units such as importers, distributors, retailers, traditional markets, manufacturers/manufacturing sites and e-commerce warehouses.
The person in charge of BPOM said that among the 1,899 key establishments inspected, 601 (31.
65%) establishments sold spoiled, expired and illegal food, including 576 retail establishments, 2 e-commerce warehouses and 1 importer.
A total of 2,594 types of illegal products were involved, with a total of 41,709 pieces, with an estimated total value of 470 million rupiah (about 214,000 RMB).
