Indigo Agrico Chinese recently announced that the industry's first biocide, Biotrinsic X19, a biocide based on the microbial Kosakonia cowanii, has been put into commercial use in the United States and will help
farmers in the 2023 planting season.

Originally registered and launched in April 2022, Biotrinsic X19 is the first fungicide in Indigo's biological seed treatment range, providing farmers with the flexibility
to establish effective crop protection programs based on their specific field environment.
It makes Indigo's bioexogenous portfolio one of the few in the
industry to help farmers address biotic and abiotic stress.

"Farmers are always looking for better ways to grow healthy and most economically valuable crops, and Biotrinsic X19 helps farmers achieve this," said Peter Bunce, commercial director of biologics at Indigo Ag, "a breakthrough biofungicide that sets a new standard for managing critical seedling-stage diseases in corn and soybean plantations, and Biotrinsic X19 works by enhancing the plant's natural disease management processes
    。 ″

Like other products in the Bioexogenous range, X19 uses microorganisms to promote plant growth
    .
The microorganisms in Biotrinsic X19 are organisms that grow in harmony with plants, colonize plant roots and expand their disease interventions as the roots grow
    .
In repeated field trials, X19 yielded an average of 2.
    6 bushels/acre for soybeans and 8.
    6 bushels/acre
    for corn.

"Any time we can help plants protect themselves with natural elements, rather than introducing synthetic elements, which is good for both plants and soil," said Jake Hoalt, co-founder and owner of Illinois farmer and produce retailer Xceleration Ag, who tried X19 as part of Bioexogenous Beta Fields, a program that offers free and early access to some of the latest biotechnologies to improve crop stress tolerance
    .

The product has a unique triple mode
    of action.
When microbes in Biotrinsic X19 encounter mycelium or hyphae that target pathogens of disease at the seedling stage, Bioblocker? It acts to quickly encircle the mycelium, forming a microbial barrier between plant roots and seedling diseases to interfere with the spread
    of diseases.
In addition to the action of this bioblocker, Biotrinsic X19 binds induced systemic resistance and root colonization
    with a single active ingredient.
When these modes of action are combined, a broad area of disease blocking action is formed
    .

What's more, Biotrinsic X19 simplifies operations for farmers, can be used alone or in combination with other seed treatment fungicides to increase disease management options, and is compatible with
a wide range of other pesticides.
Reviewed by the Organic Materials Review Institute (OMRI), seed treatment can be used on organic-certified farms as well as conventional or non-organic farms
