Implementation of 5.1 Environmental Protection Standard for Waterproof Coatings

[China Epoxy Network (China Epoxy Industry Online)News on April 2, 2009: "Environmental Labeling Product Technical Requirements for Waterproof Coatings" will be formally implemented on May 1, 2009.
According to experts from China Epoxy Industry Association ( in order to implement the "Environmental Protection Law of the People's Republic of China", effectively use and save resources, and reduce the impact of waterproof coatings on the environment and human health during production and use.
The Environmental Development Center of the Ministry of Environmental Protection, the Waterproof Technology Professional Committee of the Architectural Society of China, and the Beijing Green Business and Cultural Development Center jointly drafted and formulated the "Environmental Labeling Product Technical Requirements for Waterproof Coatings".
Standards for glycol ethers and their esters, phthalates, diamines, alkylphenol polyoxyethylene ethers, branched chain sodium dodecylbenzene sulfonate hydrocarbons, ketones, halogens in waterproof coatings Hydrocarbon-substituted solvents require no artificial addition, and limit requirements for substances such as volatile organic compounds, radioactivity, formaldehyde, benzene, benzene solvents, and free toluene diisocyanate in curing agents.
The standard specifies the terms and definitions, basic requirements, technical content and inspection methods of environmental labeling products for waterproof coatings.
The standard applies to volatile curing waterproof coatings (two-component polymer cement waterproof coatings, one-component acrylic polymer emulsion waterproof coatings), and reaction curing waterproof coatings (polyurethane waterproof coatings, modified epoxy waterproof coatings, polyurea Waterproof coating).
This standard does not apply to coal tar polyurethane waterproof coatings, but is applicable to the certification of China's environmental labeling products.
