Coagulation not only plays an important role in the homeostasis of the body, but also plays an important role in the innate immune response of anti infection and clearance of pathogenic bacteria.bacterial endotoxin such as lipopolysaccharide (LPS), a component of the cell membrane of Gram-negative bacteria, can promote the deposition of cellulose in the infected site. It is a well-known activator of coagulation cascade reaction [6] [7] [8].in endotoxemia and gram-negative bacterial sepsis, exogenous activation of the coagulation cascade can cause disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC).this fatal coagulation reaction has greatly increased the mortality of septicemia, making it one of the main clinical causes of death [3].recent studies have found that phosphatidylserine exposure is related to coagulation reaction [4], but the mechanism is still unclear.in December 2019, Professor Lu Ben from Xiangya Third Hospital of Central South University elaborated caspase-11 and its enzyme digestion substrate gasdermin-11 in the journal immunity of cell press cell publishing house D (gsdmd) plays a key role in the process of DIC induced by bacterial infection, which reveals the molecular mechanism of DIC induced by gram-negative bacteria, and provides a new idea for the prevention and treatment of septic DIC in the future.Dr. Yang Xinyu and Ph.D. student Cheng Xiaoye are the first co authors of the paper, and Professor Lu Ben is the corresponding author of the paper.(
