Chinese IHARA recently announced the launch of the pesticide Bestphos in the Brazilian market, the company's new solution
to combat cotton bollweas, a major pest of cotton.

The bollweil is considered to be the main pest of American cotton, with a short life cycle, high reproductive rate and strong destructiveness, which can attack the flower buds
    of crops.
If left unchecked, the yield loss can be as high as 70%.

In addition to being extremely destructive, bollweeins are difficult pests
    to control.
Brazilian growers spray pesticides an average of 16 times a year
    .
In other regions, such as Bahia, some crops receive 20 to 30 doses
    per year.

Bestphos has a completely new active ingredient that combines two active substances considered the most powerful of this type of control: cypermethrin and propylbromophos
    .
According to the manufacturer, the dosage form of its emulsion guarantees "immediate high performance, immediate control and extended residue action"
    .
IHARA Brazil said the product had a 100 percent control rate against bollweevils in field tests at several institutions, including the Matogrossessense Cotton Institute (IMA), the Bahia Foundation and the Goiano Agricultural Research Institute (IGA).

Another important feature of Bestphos is extensive pest control, capable of controlling pests and diseases of 14 different crops
    .
Cotton pests include caterpillars, leafhoppers, thrips, and bed bugs
    .
The new product has proven to be 100% effective against cotton mites, a fast-spreading pest that is currently difficult to control within a few hours
    .

"Despite the scale of production, cotton is a very sensitive crop
    .
    It is affected
by soil quality, climatic issues and water scarcity.
On top of that, it is also vulnerable to pests, fungi, and
    weeds.
If not properly controlled, these threats can completely destroy crops," emphasizes Roberto Rodrigues
, Regional Marketing Manager at IHARA.

    IHARA has been a leader
in cotton farming for decades since its company was founded in Brazil.
Rodrigues added: "Understanding the challenges of this crop, IHARA continues to invest in developing solutions that bring another excellent tool
    for the control of boll-weevils.
WE ARE ALREADY MARKET LEADERS IN THIS AREA, INCLUDING CHASER CW AND PIREPHOS EC
    .

While IHARA already has highly effective products for the same purpose, the company's new product is designed to provide growers with good options that promote the circulation of active ingredients, not only for bollweevils, but also for other cotton pests, which is an essential strategy
    for effective management.
