    The Hong Kong Food and Health Bureau issued Circular G/SPS/N/HGK/34 on 16 April 2010: The Legislative Council Committee on Food Safety and Environmental Hygiene recommended amendments to the Sweetener Regulations in Food.
    The document is intended to seek the advice of members of the Regulatory Committee in Hong Kong, China, on the proposal to increase (a) Neotame (b) steviol glycoside, both of which are listed as safe by the FAO/WHO Committee of Experts on Food Additives (JECFA) in the list of sweeteners in food regulations.
    this circular is due to enter into force on 1 August 2010 and the deadline for comments is 1 August 2010.
