Introduction: the food and environmental health department (FEHD) of the Hong Kong SAR government announced on Monday that 17 samples of Chinese hairy crabs imported from the mainland recently were all free of estrogen and antibiotics The other 10 samples were also tested to be free of antibiotics and estrogen on November 9 The results of the two tests showed that the crabs imported from the mainland were suitable for eating As some media in Hong Kong reported that research results showed that hairy crabs imported from the mainland contained antibiotics, fehd immediately took a major food monitoring action in the past two weeks, taking 27 samples of hairy crabs from the import, wholesale and retail sectors for antibiotic and estrin analysis In addition, 15 fresh water fish and snake meat samples were collected for antibiotic and estrogen tests The results showed that all samples were free of antibiotics and estrogen.
