Hexion has introduced a new lower yellowing epoxy system for concrete protection and a unique amine curing agent to help paint manufacturers meet lower indoor air emission requirements while reducing costs.
INFINIUM ™ yellowing epoxy resin material system is a combination of EPON LY™1810 resins and EPIKURE LY™ 3801 curing agents. This two-part ambient curing system reduces yellowing by five times, while providing excellent epoxy performance and night-time curing
.
"INFINIUM™ system can be used as a single coating, potentially replacing a two-layer coating combination for faster construction. James Bellinger, director of epoxy operations in the Americas, said. A single coating can significantly reduce application costs, saving our customers time and money and providing opportunities to increase profits.
with the growing importance of green building programs, such as the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED, paint formulat designers need a combination of epoxy materials that meet more stringent indoor air emission requirements. To meet this market demand, Hexion introduced a unique amine curing agent called EPICURE ™ 580 curing agent to the American market.
"With the introduction of THEKURE 580 curing agents, we can provide our customers with a coating that is affordable and LEED certified to reduce indoor air emissions." Dan Weinmann, Market Development Manager for Epoxy Specialty Products, said, "This new curing agent also improves sustainability because it does not contain additional phenols or parabens." "
